Who is Daria Zelenoff?


Daria Zelenoff is an actress and model from the United States. She was born in Los Angeles, California to a family of actors and models. Daria has two siblings: an older sister named Allie and a younger brother named Jake. Daria’s parents divorced when she was very young. And she and her siblings were raised by their mother. Daria attended Beverly Hills High School in Beverly Hills, California. After high school, Daria studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City for two years. Daria then moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

In 2001, Daria made her film debut in the independent drama The Destruction of Martha Kinsey. Since then, she has appeared in a number of films, including the 2004 drama Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. And the 2005 comedy Mean Girls. In 2006, Daria co-starred with Lindsay Lohan in the remake of the horror movie Elm Street. In 2007, she starred in the crime thriller Alpha Dog alongside Shia LaBeouf and Bruce Willis.

Daria Zelenoff is the daughter of Russian-born film director and producer Igor Zelenoff. And his American wife, actress Sandy Dennis. Zelenoff was born in Los Angeles, California on July 2nd, 1980. The Zelenoffs have two other children: actress/singer Mia (born 1985) and musician Sasha (born 1988). 


Daria spent her early childhood in Paris. And Moscow before moving to Los Angeles with her family when she was five years old. She began her acting career at the age of five appearing in commercials and guest spots on television shows. She made her feature film debut in her father’s independent film, “The Burning Season”, which won awards at the Sundance Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival.


Daria has appeared in such films as “Kids” (1995), “Donnie Darko” (2001), “The Rules of Attraction” (2002), “The Sweet Hereafter” (2007), and “No Strings Attached” (2011). In 2009, she starred in her first leading role in the romantic comedy, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”. Daria co-wrote and directed the film which was released in 2012 to critical acclaim.

In 2012, Daria is set to star in “The Baader Meinhof Complex”, an adaptation of the Thomas Pynchon novel “Gravity’s Rainbow”. Her next film is “Hick” with Efren Ramirez and is set for release in 2014. In 2015, Daria will star alongside husband Jesse Bradford in the indie drama, “Palindromes” (formerly known as “Precariat”).

For her role as a young single mother in this film she was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress at the 2016 GSLA Film Awards.
